Off-Campus Housing Guide: Best Neighborhoods Near UA

The University neighborhood directly surrounding campus is the most popular for UA students. North Park Avenue, East Speedway, and the streets east of campus have the densest student housing. It's walkable to class and close to everything on 4th Avenue, which is Tucson's main student entertainment corridor.

Sam Hughes is a historic residential neighborhood just east of campus known for its charming bungalows and tree-lined streets. It's popular with upperclassmen and grad students who want a quieter environment close to campus. Housing here tends to be in smaller multi-unit buildings and converted homes.

Midtown Tucson is further north of campus along Oracle Road and Campbell Avenue and offers larger apartment complexes at lower prices. It's well-connected to campus via the Sun Link streetcar and Sun Tran bus routes, and popular with students who want more space for their money.
