How it started
Off-Campus Universe was started by Owen Conrad. During a semester abroad, Owen ran into the same problem so many students face: finding off-campus housing and roommates from far away, with listings scattered everywhere and no easy way to know which ones to trust.
The website began as a simple way to help students find a sublease. Along the way it became clear that students needed more than that. They needed to find the right roommates and to lock in a place for the whole school year. Off-Campus Universe grew to cover all three: subleases, year-long housing and roommates.

A student rep at every school
At every university we serve, we have a student representative on the ground. They spread the word about the listings on our site and make sure students are connecting with the resources Off-Campus Universe provides. That’s how each school page stays local and up to date.
How it works
For students
Browse apartments, houses, rooms and subleases near your campus, with prices, photos and a map.
Contact owners directly. Tap to see a phone number or email, or send a message through the site.
Find a roommate. Create a free roommate profile and message other students from your school.
Join your school’s housing group to ask questions and hear about new places first.
It’s free for students. We never charge you to search, message or apply.
For landlords and property managers
Upgrade to a microsite: a branded page for your company with all your listings in one place.
We promote listings through our school pages, Instagram accounts, Facebook groups, student reps and Google.
Every listing is reviewed
We review all listings before posting them, so students are browsing reliable options. Housing scams target students, so we take this seriously.
Never send a deposit before you’ve seen a place or signed a lease.
If a listing ever looks wrong, email us at support@offcampus-universe.com.
