Texas A&M townhouse on the TAMU bus route: the 3b3b options

Townhouses were the floor plan students named most in the College Station housing posts we reviewed this month, with 3b3b layouts second, and a Texas A&M townhouse on the TAMU bus route adds one more wish to that list: a way to get to class without fighting for parking. Here is what our current listings show, what we do not know, and how to compare places, starting with our College Station listings page.

Right now you can check out real listings near College Station, including 4x4 in Barracks at $675/month (listed with 3 beds and 3 baths, Property Type Townhouse, Rent by Room, unfurnished, Distance by Car 5 to 10 minutes), Aspire Reserve 3x3 at $1,349/month (3 bed, 3 bath, furnished, Distance by Car under 5 minutes, Year Lease (12 Months)), The Junction Apartments at $779/month (4 bed, 4 bath, Property Type Townhouse, furnished, Distance by Car 5 to 10 minutes), 4Bed 4Bath University Place on Bus Route at $1,650/month (4 bed, 4 bath condo, unfurnished, Distance by Car 5 to 10 minutes, Biannual lease (6 months)), and 2bedroom/2bathroom at $1,200/month (2 bed, 2 bath apartment, unfurnished, Distance by Car 5 to 10 minutes, Year Lease (12 Months)). All five carry lease timings that start on or before mid-October 2026.

College Station Housing: The Overview

College Station is home to the Texas A&M campus, with Northgate across University Drive from the north side of campus and the city of Bryan just to the north. Texas A&M runs a campus bus system, so it is worth asking how any place you consider connects to it. Distance by Car, a field on every listing on our site, is a band set on each listing rather than a measured drive, so it is a starting filter, not the full answer.

Here is what students are posting. Across the 78 student posts we reviewed from local housing groups between October 5 and 12, 2026, the median rent people quoted was $755 per person, a figure stated by students in those posts rather than taken from our listings. Townhouse was the most named floor plan, at 15 mentions, followed by 3b3b at 10. Term-specific requests appeared in 47 percent of posts, sublease or lease takeover requests in 54 percent, roommate searches in 42 percent, furnished requests in 42 percent and private room or bath requests in 33 percent. Barracks came up 13 times as a local term.

Texas A&M Townhouse on the TAMU Bus Route: The 3b3b Options

Here is the honest part: we do not hold bus route maps, stop locations or ride times for any listing, so we cannot tell you which Texas A&M townhouse on the TAMU bus route is closest to a stop, and we are not going to rank them. One listing above, 4Bed 4Bath University Place on Bus Route, mentions a bus route in its own title; that is the lister's description, so ask which route and which stop before you rely on it. For the 3b3b question specifically, two listings fit by their bed and bath counts. Aspire Reserve 3x3 is listed at 3 beds and 3 baths for $1,349 a month, furnished. The 4x4 in Barracks listing has 4x4 in its title, but its listing fields show 3 beds and 3 baths and a Property Type of Townhouse, and it is marked Rent by Room at $675 a month, so ask the lister to confirm the layout and whether that price is for one room. If you want a townhouse with more space, The Junction Apartments listing is a 4 bed, 4 bath townhouse at $779 a month; as with every listing here, ask the lister how it connects to the bus.

Do not compare these prices directly without asking what each one covers. A Rent by Room price and a whole-unit price are not the same thing, and only the lister can tell you which you are looking at on listings where it is not marked. Ask the same question about utilities, furniture and parking before you line places up side by side.

Furniture and lease length split these listings too. Aspire Reserve 3x3 and The Junction Apartments are marked furnished, while the 4x4 in Barracks, University Place and 2bedroom/2bathroom listings are unfurnished. Most of the five are listed as a Year Lease (12 Months), but the University Place listing is a Biannual lease (6 months), which could suit you if you only need housing for spring. With 47 percent of this month's student posts asking about a specific term, a six month option is worth a look, as long as you confirm the exact dates with the lister.

If you are building a group for a 3b3b or 4b4b, settle the details before you apply. Decide who signs, how rent and utilities are split, who covers a room if someone leaves, and whether anyone has a pet. Pets came up in 23 percent of the student posts we reviewed, and none of these listings shows a pet policy in the fields we hold, so ask each lister directly about pets, pet deposits and monthly pet fees. On a Rent by Room listing, also ask how roommates are placed and whether you can choose who fills the other rooms.

Tips for Choosing a Townhouse Near the Bus

  • Ask each lister which bus route and stop is closest, and how residents usually get to campus, since we do not hold route data.

  • Confirm the real bed and bath count and whether the price is per room or for the whole unit, especially when a title and the listing fields differ.

  • If you are filling a 3b3b with roommates, agree on how rent, utilities and the deposit are split before anyone signs.

  • For a sublease or takeover, get the property manager's written approval and check the original lease end date.
