The Pointe at Central UCF 2x2: what the shuttle-route apartments cost

A note on what we do not have. We do not hold shuttle schedules, routes or travel times for this or any building, so this post will not quote any. Our listings carry a Distance by Car field showing the trip to campus in bands, and that is the only travel figure we use.

Orlando Off-Campus Housing: Our Pointe at Central Listing and the Comparisons

Our listing titled The Pointe at Central is listed as 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, furnished, on a year lease (12 months), with a Distance by Car of 5 to 10 minutes from campus. Its lease timing field begins in September and runs to July. The listing fields do not say whether the room sits in a 2x2, so ask the lister about the floor plan before you assume. The four comparison listings are all marked as available now. Plaza On University Relets is a furnished 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom listing on a year lease from 8/15/2026, at under 5 minutes by car. Campus Crossings on Alafaya is a furnished 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom listing on a year lease, at 5 to 10 minutes by car. Northgate Lakes is a furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom listing on a year lease, at under 5 minutes by car. Looking for a sublease at mercury 3100 is a furnished 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom sublease starting August 2026, at 5 to 10 minutes by car. Together they let you compare a 2 bedroom layout, two 1 bedroom listings and a 4 bedroom unit against what you are being offered at the building.

When you read these listings side by side, compare like with like. A 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom listing price may cover the whole unit or one room, and a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom sublease price may be for a single room within the unit, so ask before you compare. Look at the furnished field, the lease type and the timing as well as the price: a furnished room on a year lease, an unfurnished room on a sublease and a shared unit each come with different upfront costs, such as deposits, transfer fees and furniture. Adding those to the monthly figure gives you a fairer picture of what each option really costs over the months you need.

The Pointe at Central UCF 2x2: What Students Quoted

Here is everything we hold on The Pointe at Central UCF 2x2 from student posts. Across five posts about the building in the local housing group from October 12 to 16, 2026, students quoted $780, $820, $900, $912, $955 and $1,015. The floor plans they named were 2 bed, 2 x 2 and 2x2. The amenities those posts named were a balcony, dishwasher, dryer, fitness, furnished, gym, parking, pool, private bath, private bathroom, shuttle, utilities included and washer. These are things students wrote in their posts, not features we have confirmed, and a single post may have mentioned only some of them. They also do not tell you which unit or term each quoted rent covers, so ask the person offering the room what is included in their figure. Beyond our own listing and these posts, we do not have any other facts about the building.

For wider context, across 39 student posts we analyzed in the UCF housing group in the same week, the median rent people quoted was $915 per person, based on 41 dollar figures with four scam-marker posts left out. That is what students typed into posts, not our listing data and not a market rate. Sublease and lease takeover posts made up 77 percent of that group's posts, 30 points above the all-school baseline, and the word shuttle came up in 15 posts. Posts mentioning a pool or gym, counted together, made up 44 percent, and posts mentioning utilities included made up 15 percent.

If you are taking over someone else's room, remember that you are stepping into a lease you did not negotiate. Ask for a copy of the original lease, check the end date and any renewal terms, and find out whether you will be added to the lease, sign a separate sublease agreement, or simply pay the current tenant. Each of those carries different protections for you. A leasing office that approves the transfer in writing is the clearest arrangement, and keeping records of every payment you make protects you if anything goes wrong later in the term.

Finally, compare at least two or three places before committing. Students in the same week quoted a wide range of figures for rooms, and a quick comparison with current listings can show you whether an offer is reasonable for the size, furniture and lease length you are getting.

Tips Before You Sign a 2x2 Room or Takeover

  • Ask whether the rent quoted is for your bedroom only and which utilities, if any, are included, then get that in writing.

  • Request the original lease dates and confirm with the leasing office that a transfer or relet is allowed and what fee it charges.

  • Ask who you would share the unit with and how bathrooms are assigned, since a 2x2 can be set up in more than one way.

  • If transport matters to you, ask the property directly about any shuttle service and its schedule rather than relying on a post.
